Chambers Trip

This piece is on display at the Chambers in Minneapolis. The Chambers is an Art hotel that displays many varieties of art. They had watercolor pieces, drawings, photography, spray paint, etc. I picked the Leslie Holts "Hello Masterpiece" to write about because i like how she took a child's cartoon character, Hello Kitty, and had her doing thing that you wouldn't normally see her doing. Some of the pieces that she choose to put Hello Kitty in actually brought light to them. She took some dark and meaningful pieces and had Hello Kitty doing something in them. I think it brought a little comedy to some of the artwork.

Foshay Tower

I used Photoshop on this picture to create the "vintage" look.
I used Photoshop with this photo also and created a "falling snow" effect.
I used Illustrator with this photo and tried the "Andy Warhol" effect

Artist Statement
"Art is a way of communicating. Design is an arrangement of the spontaneous and the ordered. This arrangement is a direct vision of inexpressible ideas, emotions, dreams, and desires. It stimulates our physical and imaginative curiosity. It is the subsequent blending of our own identity with the form, colors, and details of the arrangement which bring it into an expression of reality. It is this expression of reality that makes communicating a designed form of art." - William Miller

Poster with changes

I didn't do a whole lot of changes to my poster. The only things that i changed were that i added a bird and i made the picture of the family a different color to make them blend in more.

Movie Poster

This is my movie poster that i created. I wanted to keep it simple just because i don't like really busy posters. I wanted something that makes you go "hmmm". I added the silhouette of the family on the dock and the birds. I also changed the the color balance and the hue and saturation of the picture. The original is more of a yellow and i changed it to the reds and purples.

Movie Posters Good/Bad

I think that this poster is good because the title is very clear and where it list the actors it also shows pictures. The release date is stated and everyone that helped with the movie is listed at the bottom. I also like that there is a quote about the movie at the top so it gives you a glimpse of what kind of movie it will be.

I think that this poster is very bad. Besides the title of the movie and the quote at the top, nothing else is easy to read. The light blue for the first names and the darker blues for the last names makes it harder to read. I also do not like the random symbols in black. I think that the quotes in red are a little random and they don't say much about the movie. Over all the poster is not an "eye catcher".

About Me

I chose the title bump in the road because every time that i think my life is finally on the right track i always seem to hit a bump. These "bumps" are usually pretty big, they may even be more like potholes and take longer to get out. The picture i chose is on Mount St. Helen's in Washington. I chose that picture because when i was there i felt so carefree and small compared to the world around me. Everything was so new and open and the air was so pure.
I have always wanted to be a nurse. I chose Anoka-Ramsey because of their nursing program. After a few semesters i ended up getting hurt at work and being told that i should probably look into a different career. I am now applying for the physical therapy program in hopes to go that route. I am also interested in graphic design a lot. I took some graphic design classes in high school and was selected to compete in SkillsUSA and actually won 2nd place. A lot of my graphic design work is of pictures of my animals. I have a 17 y/o cat that is starting to get sick so i'm trying to take a lot of pictures while i have the opportunity. I love to travel and take a lot of pictures of nature and i'm not the best photographer but i guess that is what Photoshop is for.
